As I drove toward Winnipeg the topography changed drastically as I crested the hills I had been driving all day. It was suddenly totally flat...not even a bump and almost no trees. It must be what it means when they describe Manitoba and Saskatchewan as the "Prairie Provinces." With what I thought would be my travel plan I thought I would drive all the way across to Vancouver BC and then come through Seattle, but I may drop down after I get to Sask. and come through the northern route of the US and stop one more time in Sun Valley...might even see if they have any deals for golf:) The weather is supposed to be nice for the next few days. I haven't been in Montana since Rod and I were on our honeymoon.

NYC has St. Patrick's Cathedral and Winnipeg has St. Mary's Cathedral.

The city is in a frenzy over their new hockey team, the Manitoba Moose. The tickets sold out for the season in hours as did all the clothing and memorabilia. There was a game last night so the stadium was all lit up.

When I arrived at the hotel, the bellman was either bored or remarkably enthusiastic about his city, so he took me up to the penthouse so I could get pictures of the city at night. This is a picture of the old city hall which they call "Golden Boy" because there is a statue of a boy in gold on the top of the building.

I just looked at my pictures and I forgot to show you the only picture that I got of Duluth. I just kind of forgot to take out my camera. The is a Church, Methodist, I think, that sits on the highhest point in Duluth with a view straight out to the lake.

I just kept clicking away.

It is filled with huge stuffed animals that I am sure the kids love.

The day arrived sunny and bright in Winnipeg! I have just come in from wandering around the downtown area. Tomorrow I will go the The Forks. You know me, bibliophile at heart, I headed first to the library. It is huge and they are currently expanding again. I loved the children's library.

There was one spot where several of us stopped to take pictures simultaneously. There is no way to do justice to the beauty of this bright, sunny collection of trees adjacent to someone's long driveway.

Even this driveway was spectacular.
